ABOUT DIYA JOHN

With a Masters in Psychology, I have specialized in consumer research that goes below the surface and beyond the obvious from a variety of data sources including qualitative, quantitative and social media. 


My interest in different cultures has led me to actively pursue international projects, and I am grateful to have been selected as one of Kantar's 30 under 30 Achievers from around the world in 2017. Since then, I have worked on consumer research in 19 markets across Asia Pacific including India, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, Australia and Japan, as a part of my role as a Brand Strategy Domain Leader at Kantar.

My experience includes consumer needs segmentation, brand & communications research, usability research and concept testing across industries like online retail, automotive, fashion retail, banking, FMCG, alco-bev, cryptocurrency and social media.

Brand building has been a core focus of my work, and I'm glad to have led the insights and content creation for Kantar Japan's BrandZ Top 50 Japanese brands.


After spending about a decade in the corporate world, I decided to use my Psychology background in a socially useful way and founded Therapy Garden, focused on Mental Health for expats, nomads and internationals worldwide. I am now a practicing counsellor and psychotherapist, registered with the Australian Counselling Association.
